Group Financial Controller | Derbyshire | £75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid

Are you a technically strong finance leader with experience operating within a multi-entity, multi-site environment? Do you enjoy combining strategic influence with hands-on financial control, while leading and developing a sizeable finance team?

We are exclusively partnering with a successful and growing organisation to recruit a Group Financial Controller. Reporting into senior leadership, this is a highly visible position with responsibility for financial control, reporting, governance and team leadership across a diverse group structure.

This opportunity offers significant breadth, exposure to senior decision-makers and the chance to play a key role in shaping the future direction of both the finance function and the wider business.

The Opportunity

As Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of finance operations across multiple entities and locations, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making.
A key element of the role will be overseeing group reporting and consolidation activities, while leading an established finance function and driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and controls. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing meaningful financial insight and helping to drive operational and commercial performance.

This role would suit an accomplished Financial Controller, Head of Finance or Group Accountant looking for a broad leadership opportunity within a dynamic and evolving organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and mentor an established finance team, promoting a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts across multiple entities and business units.
  • Take ownership of group financial reporting, including multi-entity consolidations and senior leadership reporting.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks are maintained across the group.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital and balance sheet integrity.
  • Lead year-end reporting activities, statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes.
  • Drive consistency of reporting standards and financial controls across multiple sites and entities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning activities.
  • Partner with operational and commercial leaders to provide financial insight, challenge and decision support.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls and reporting capability.
  • Ensure all regulatory, statutory and tax obligations are met accurately and on time.
About You

We’re keen to speak with commercially minded finance leaders who can demonstrate both strong technical expertise and proven people management capability.

You’ll ideally offer:
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar senior finance leadership role.
  • Proven experience operating within a multi-site and multi-entity organisation.
  • Strong background in group financial reporting, consolidations and statutory accounting.
  • Experience leading and developing a sizable finance team within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to influence decision-making at senior level.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach coupled with a continuous improvement mindset.

What’s on Offer?

  • £75,000 salary plus car allowance, bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
  • A highly visible leadership role within a successful and growing organisation.
  • Responsibility for a complex multi-entity finance function.
  • The opportunity to lead and develop an established finance team.
  • Significant exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making.
  • Hybrid working flexibility.
  • Genuine long-term progression opportunities within the organisation.

If you’re looking for a Group Financial Controller opportunity where you can make a genuine impact across a multi-entity business, lead an established finance team and take ownership of group reporting and consolidations, we’d love to hear from you.
