Import & Export Compliance Specialist | £30k – £35k | 12 month contract | £15.39 to £17.95 per hour
Heanor, Derbyshire | Hybrid upon completion of probation
8.30am-5pm Monday to Thursday with a 45 minute lunch break & 8.30-15.45pm on Fridays

Are you an experienced Import & Export Compliance professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Import & Export Compliance Specialist to join a business based in Heanor for a 12-month contract on a temporary basis. In this role, you will ensure compliance with UK and international trade regulations, manage export documentation, and conduct compliance audits. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for regulatory compliance, we want to hear from you!

What we’re looking for:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field (professional export compliance qualifications preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years in import/export compliance or a related field, with strong knowledge of UK trade laws and international regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with import/export compliance software and tools is a plus

The finer elements of the role include:

  • Ensure import & export activities comply with UK laws, international regulations, and company policies
  • Prepare and review export and import documentation, including licenses, shipping documents, and customs declarations
  • Conduct audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks
  • Collaborate with logistics, sales, procurement, and finance teams to provide guidance on compliance matters
  • Educate staff on import & export regulations and best practices
  • Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Act as a key point of contact for regulatory authorities, customers, suppliers, and customs agents
  • Maintain accurate records of import & export transactions and compliance activities
