CNC Turner

Tring, Hertfordshire | Full-Time | Permanent | Onsite
Are you a skilled CNC Turner looking for a role where you can do more than simply machine parts?
We’re recruiting on behalf of an innovative engineering manufacturer seeking a CNC Turner to join their in-house machine shop team. This is an opportunity to work on a mix of prototype, development and low-volume production projects, supporting the creation of highly engineered products used around the world.
Working within a small, highly skilled team, you’ll play a key role in bringing new designs to life, programming and machining precision components, and collaborating with engineers to develop practical manufacturing solutions.
This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys variety, wants to remain hands-on, and likes being involved in the wider engineering process rather than solely operating machinery.
The Role
- Programming, setting and operating CNC machine tools.
- Manufacturing prototype and low-volume production components.
- Producing high-precision parts to tight tolerances.
- Working closely with design engineers on new and existing products.
- Supporting tooling, fixture and process development activities.
- Inspecting components using a variety of measuring equipment.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
- Supporting the introduction of new manufacturing techniques and processes.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within a CNC machining or precision engineering environment.
- Strong CNC turning experience, including programming, setting and operating.
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings.
- Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of Mazak/Mazatrol machinery would be highly advantageous.
- Milling experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A proactive approach and willingness to contribute beyond day-to-day machining activities.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
What’s On Offer?
- Salary up to £45,000.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Private medical scheme.
- Company pension contribution.
- Free onsite parking.
- Modern, well-equipped machine shop environment.
- Exposure to prototype and development projects.
- Opportunities to work closely with engineers and technical specialists.
- Long-term career prospects within a stable and growing organisation.
If you’re a CNC Turner looking for a role that offers genuine variety, technical involvement and the chance to make a real impact within a collaborative engineering team, we’d love to hear from you.
