We’re looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Technician to take ownership of a portfolio of client payrolls, delivering an accurate, compliant and highly responsive payroll service. You’ll manage weekly and monthly payroll cycles, support year-end activity, and act as a key point of contact for payroll queries—working closely with the Payroll Manager and wider colleagues to ensure consistently excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly client payrolls using a range of payroll software.
- Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) to resolve client issues.
- Prepare year-end returns
- Manage clients’ CIS Tax Deducted returns to HMRC.
- Upload client Direct Bacs payroll payments.
- Support the Payroll Manager as needed and provide cover for other Payroll Technicians.
- Minimum 3 years’ practical payroll processing experience (ideally within a payroll bureau environment or practice).
- Strong experience of payroll calculations and processing, including manual calculations.
- Working knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory payments.
- Thorough understanding of RTI and Auto Enrolment legislation, and its practical impact on client payrolls.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of payrolls, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Motivated and committed to delivering excellent service to clients and colleagues.
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach.

- Organised and administratively strong.
- Able to multitask and prioritise to meet multiple deadlines.
