We’re seeking a proactive Management Accountant to become a vital part of our dynamic small finance team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in delivering accurate management insights, with a special focus on Work In Progress (WIP) and project performance. Beyond number-crunching, you’ll mentor junior staff and provide essential support across various finance functions, making a tangible impact on our business operations.
What You’ll Bring:
- Qualified, QBE or Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with strong experience in a similar role within construction or project-centric industries.
- Solid knowledge of WIP, project accounting, and revenue recognition standards.
- Proven ability to manage fixed assets, lease/hire purchase registers, and VAT returns expense.
- Excellent analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Hands-on experience in preparing management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, comfortable working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Flexible, practical approach with experience working in small finance teams.
- Additional expertise in cost control, cash flow forecasting, or construction-specific accounting standards.
- Experience supporting or leading process improvements and financial controls.
- Ability to adapt to hybrid working arrangements and multitask effectively.
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification.
- Prior experience in construction or a project-based environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring or supporting junior team members.
- Availability to support periods of holiday or absence, including covering routine finance duties.
- 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility around hybrid working.
- Valid UK driving license or willingness to commute to onsite parking as required.
