Salary: £32,000 – £36,000 + overtime opportunities
Hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 4pm – with some flex)

The Opportunity

We are working with a specialist engineering services provider supporting operations within a high-spec aerospace manufacturing environment. We are recruiting for a CNC Tooling Technician, sometimes referred to internally as a Polishing Media Technician, to support the assembly, preparation and inspection of precision tooling used in automated polishing and machining processes.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assembling tooling using detailed technical instructions
  • Working with abrasive media, tool holders and associated components
  • Applying torque settings and securing components correctly
  • Carrying out visual and basic checks to ensure quality and compliance
  • Preparing tooling for use within machining environments
  • Disassembling used tooling and replacing consumable media
  • Identifying and flagging any defects or non-conformances
  • Supporting general tooling operations including stock control
What We’re Looking For

Ideal backgrounds include:
  • CNC Setter or CNC Operator
  • Tooling Technician
  • Machine Shop Technician
  • Tool Presetter or Tool Preparation
Key skills:
  • Experience working with cutting tools, inserts, drills or abrasives
  • Exposure to CNC or machining environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Quality-focused mindset with a right first time approach
Important

This role is not a CNC programming or machining position. However, candidates must have experience working with tooling or within machining environments, with a basic understanding of how tools are used in production.
