The Role
As Finance Director and member of the Senior Management Team, you will provide strategic leadership across all financial and commercial matters. You will take full ownership of group reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial governance, while developing a high performing finance function.
This is a fully onsite position based at the Castle Donnington head office, with occasional travel to other UK sites.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure strong financial compliance, controls and best practice across the group.
- Lead and develop the finance function of around ten people, including two direct reports.
- Improve financial processes, systems and reporting capability.
- Manage and maintain external relationships with banks, auditors, insurers and advisors.
- Produce accurate and timely monthly accounts.
- Lead annual budgets, forecasts and company wide financial planning.
- Monitor cashflow, financial performance and risk exposure.
- Analyse financial and market trends to support long term strategic decisions.
- Develop and implement costing models to support profitability and margin analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statutory reports.
- Partner with the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership team on commercial initiatives.
- Interpret complex financial data and provide clear insight to support operational decisions.
- Maintain and update financial policies, procedures and departmental manuals.
- Oversee onboarding, training and development for new finance employees.
We are seeking a credible and operationally minded Finance Director with strong logistics sector experience, who can influence, challenge and support a growing business.
Essential experience:
- Advanced accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA or CIMA.
- Direct experience within a logistics or transport environment, which is essential for this role.
- Operational finance background with hands on leadership ability.
- Good working knowledge of Sage.
- A track record of improving reporting, systems and financial processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical and commercial skills.
- Ability to work closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders.
