An Assistant Management Accountant supports the senior finance team on a day to day basis and at month end. Many will be studying towards their AAT/CIMA/ACCA qualification, and many businesses will offer financial support and study time so that employees can succeed in their accreditation.
The role will involve contributing to the delivery of the management accounts to the company directors, working to given deadlines. This may be for a monthly board meeting for example. This information contributes to the decision making of the board, so is vital.
What makes a good Assistant Management Accountant?
This position requires strong organisational skills, good communication skills and an eye for detail and accuracy. The ability to prioritise tasks whilst working in a fast paced environment will be looked upon very favorably by employers.
Potential employers will also expect strong Excel skills (including Pivot tables, Vlookups, What-if analysis).

- Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation

- Own and maintain profit & loss schedules, including relevant accruals and prepayments

Salaries in the East Midlands for Assistant Management Accountants can be between £20,000 - £25,000 depending on the organisation.
