An Analyst sits within the Finance team and is responsible for driving efficiency gains to existing processes. To achieve this they need to use technical expertise, along with leveraging relationships with stakeholders. An Analyst is also responsible for driving improvements in management information.

What makes a successful Analyst? 

Analysts will be methodical, technically minded, and have the ability to learn quickly and think on their feet. 

Very strong Excel skills are essential, extending to VBA/SQL. Technical expertise with interpreting data structures and being able to manipulate data effectively are also vital. 

Other responsibilities of an Analyst: 

  • Understand all processes that drive the financial accounts, and identify and implement improvements in efficiency, integrity and quality of outputs
  • Create analytics reports that will be used to drive improved business decision making
  • Lead on Management Information projects such as automation or integrity projects
