Job Description

Cherry Professional are currently recruiting for a full time Sales Manager their East Midlands based client. Reporting into the Managing Director you will be responsible for overseeing the Web and Managed Account sales activities of the company and managing the sales team.

You will ideally be experienced within a senior sales role and be able to deliver, at board level, proven ideas and strategies to drive performance and change. You will have first class communication & interpersonal skills and be concise, polished and credible in your delivery and approach.

Main Responsibilities

  • Motivating the sales team to achieve the best results possible
  • Continual training and development of all members of the sales department
  • Attending key meetings with members of the sales team
  • Working on account management plans with the sales account managers
  • Identifying key areas for improvement in the sales process
  • Spotting market opportunities for new customers
  • Attending monthly meetings with other senior members of the business
  • Assisting with recruitment and selection for the sales department
  • Acting as a spokesperson for the organisation at sales events and conferences
  • Networking with other directors in order to generate new business for the company
  • Monthly reporting on sales performance against budget and reporting on variances
  • Maintains sales teams results by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

Person specification

  • Proven senior sales management experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience as a sales manager or sales director
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
  • Proven ability to position products against competitors
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

People Management

  • Discuss performance in weekly catch up meetings, identifying solutions to problems as they arise
  • Conduct monthly one-one meetings with Sales Executives to identify and agree work plans, resolve any problems or queries either party may have, identify training and development needs and where appropriate, implement a training plan
  • Identify individual motivators and adapt management style to support the performance of each Sales Executive
  • Ensure Sales Executives comply with organisational policy and procedures
