Purchasing Manager - Nottingham - £30,000 - £32,000

We have an exciting Puchasing Manager role with a Public Sector organisation in Nottingham. This is a permanent position within a proactive organisation who have strong values and ethics and have a culture of continuous development. This is an opportunity to take full accountability of the Purchasing in a stand-a-lone role.

Key responsibilities

- The Purchasing Manager will establish, maintain and implement the Procurement Strategy

- Create a prioritised procurement plan and report on progress

- Develop and implement key processes and procedures to support the company, ensuring compliance to Public Procurement regulations (OJEU)

- Maintaining a robust supplier set up process and rationalise the existing supplier base

-Negotiating contractual terms and conditions with suppliers

- Reviewing buying patterns across the organisation and the identification of opportunities for single-source supply

- Develop and administer a system for monitoring the success of centrally procured contracts

- Analyse financial data and prepare periodic reports on value for money obtained to monitor savings and record savings

- Support colleagues in complying with tendering, evaluation, supplier negotiation and contact awarding processes

- Being responsible for implementing and monitoring key performance indicators in line with the procurement strategy

 

Ideal Person

- Experience working within the public sector is essential

- Experience of contributing to the development and delivery of the Procurement Strategy

- Hands on experience developing and monitoring systems for centralised Contracts

- A thorough understanding and knowledge of Public Procurement Regulations (OJEU) and Contract Law experience is desirable

- Experience in compiling, issuing and evaluating tender processes

- Able to influence others through negotiation
