Cherry Professional are seeking a Purchase Ledger clerk in Derby, on behalf of a successful and independent Builders Merchants.
It's a full-time, permanent position, working 09.00 to 17.00 with 1-hour lunch, based at their main offices. A car is required as you may need to travel to their other sites, but all are locally, to collect paperwork or work occasionally to cover for staff absences.
Salary will be dependent on experience. They also have an auto-enrolment company pension scheme on offer after probation.
The role will involve the following:
Reconciliation of complex Purchase Ledger Statements, including correction of posting errors and approval of invoices
Managing returns/debit notes including raising queries with suppliers and processing credit notes
Managing overdue purchase (& possibly sales) orders, chasing paperwork as part of month-end process
Coordinating the above with sales team/other staff to resolve bottlenecks/issues and implementing solutions
Control of depot petty cash
The right person needs demonstrable purchase ledger experience; excellent reconciling skills and basic level accounts qualification would be preferred.
The company has a bespoke system, so the right person needs good IT knowledge and the ability to adapt to new systems.
