Procurement Manager - Nottingham - Permanent - up to £45k per annum

Cherry Professional has the pleasure of recruiting for a permanent, full time PROCUREMENT MANAGER for their respected Nottingham city centre client. You will provide on-going Procurement support to the business and stakeholders, this includes delivery of Procurement projects, contract negotiation, category management, and supplier/contract management. In-direct Procurement experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

- Delivery of a Procurement and category strategy that is aligned with, and meets the changing requirements of the business
- Provide line management, leadership and coaching to 2 Procurement Support Officers
- Ensure the setting of SMART objectives for the Procurement Officer and Procurement - Support Officer with quarterly performance reviews
- To represent the Procurement function, and ensure Procurement excellence, though a business partner approach supporting and meeting the needs of the business and stakeholders
- Apply appropriate controls to ensure all Procurement projects are delivered consistently to plan, on time, achieve budgeted benefit, and are negotiated to all agreed specification, operational, commercial and legal requirements
- Work closely with the Head of Procurement and the business to identify Procurement opportunities, and define, deliver and implement the Procurement category strategy
- Support of all budgeting processes
- Develop strong, credible and effective relationships with all key stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of the business requirements for the Procurement category strategy
- To maintain a disciplined approach to Procurement controls across the business
- To manage and ensure a seamless transition in any changes to the supply chain and processes, minimising operation disruption at all times
- Ensure full understanding of and proactive management of contracts and supplier performance to ensure delivery of contractual obligations with respect to solution, service and commercial delivery
- Ensure legislative and ethical supply chain policy compliance at all times within the supply chain
- Ensure compliance with the Procurement Governance Policy and the third-party risk management policy
- Attend Procurement team meetings and present updates on each Procurement project
- Minimise risk through effective supplier due diligence, contract management and contract compliance
- Ensure effective supplier management, ensuring all parties are meeting their contractual commitments and obligations, with a continual drive for improvement and innovation

Skills & Experience

- Experience in a fast paced strategic procurement and commercial environment
- Previous line management experience
- Quantifiable record of achievement through delivery of procurement initiatives
- Effective and disciplined supplier and contract management including performance management, development and improvement initiatives
- Proven and confident stakeholder engagement at all levels
- Excellent negotiation skills
