Cherry Professional are currently supporting a National organisation who's Head Office is based in Nottingham City Centre in their search for a Procurement Manager on a 6 month fixed term contract basis.

Responsibilities

- Delivery of a Procurement and category strategy that is aligned with, and meets the changing requirements of the business
- Provide line management, leadership and coaching to 2 Procurement Support Officers
- Apply appropriate controls to ensure all Procurement projects are delivered consistently
- Work closely with the Head of Procurement and the business to identify Procurement opportunities, and define, deliver and implement the Procurement category strategy
- Support of all budgeting processes
- Develop strong, credible and effective relationships with all key stakeholders to ensure a full understanding of the business requirements for the Procurement category strategy
- Ensure full understanding of and proactive management of contracts and supplier performance
- Attend Procurement team meetings and present updates on each Procurement project
- Minimise risk through effective supplier due diligence, contract management and contract compliance
- Ensure effective supplier management, ensuring all parties are meeting their contractual commitments and obligations, with a continual drive for improvement and innovation

Ideal Person

- Experience in a fast paced strategic procurement and commercial environment
- Previous line management experience
- Effective and disciplined supplier and contract management including performance management, development and improvement initiatives
- Skilled in procurement project management and associated disciplines
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to plan disaster recovery to mitigate operational issues and impact due to lack of supply
- Experience in the drafting and review of commercial contracts
