Procurement Lead | £30,000 | Burton-on-Trent | Hybrid-Working

Cherry Professional are delighted to be working with a Burton-based, well established client to recruit a CIPS qualified Procurement Lead to join their dynamic procurement function on a  12-month contact. The successful candidate will be based out of the Burton head office 2 days a week and remotely based otherwise. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to make the next step in the procurement career for a reputable and well-respected company.

Key Responsibilities:
Support indirect procurement by running tenders, negotiating commercials, and awarding contracts.
Respond to general procurement queries and raise and send purchase orders as required.
Maintain communication with suppliers ensuring procurement requirements are managed through effective SRM.
Management of purchase requisition process.
Participate in and lead projects with other departments and suppliers to support operational and cost reduction performance.
Support invoice discrepancy process and timely resolution of all pricing related queries.
Support in the set-up of suppliers in accordance with the Supplier Approval process including the ongoing management of supplier status.
Promote and enforce relevant departmental SOPs and Policies.
Execute the responsibilities of a Procurement Lead according to lawful and ethical standards.
Health and safety compliance.

The Ideal Candidate:
CIPS qualified or actively working towards a minimum CIPS L5 qualification.
Proven procurement or supply chain experience.
Experience of dealing with suppliers, and customers.
Proficient in the use of computer systems, particularly Excel, Power BI, MS Office suite and preferably D365.
Ability to multitask, assess and meet priorities through good time management.
Good analytical capability and is used to be-spoking reports to drive insight, action and change.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
