This is a great opportunity to join a growing international company. The business supplies services across the globe and is looking for a Pension Fund accountant to work in their Derby office.

The department is responsible for providing pension scheme clients with a wide range of services, in particular treasury and accounting assistance, in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the accounts including all relevant notes ensuring they are SORP and AAF compliant
  • Liaise with all parties Including account managers and auditors to ensure timetables are agreed and deadlines met
  • Completion of HMRC returns
  • Act as prime point of contact for Auditors' queries on accounts In progress
  • Produce Interim accounts and analyses as required
  • Manage the integrity of underlying transactions, documentary support, posting, compilation and maintenance of portfolio scheme accounts
  • Prepare investment reconciliations
  • Assist in the execution of treasury activities
  • Comply with Corporate Policies and Procedures on reconciliations
  • Represent the company at meetings, both Internal and external, as required
  • Liaise with Admin teams, Consultants and third parties as necessary to support the above

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of 2-3 years' pension scheme or investment accounting experience including treasury
  • Possess a financial qualification, or have extensive experience
  • Have a strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Systems
  • Be familiar with internet/intranet based systems and time recording
  • Be a good team player with a positive and flexible approach to working
  • Be attentive to detail, highly numerate, able to prioritize and meet stringent deadlines
  • Observe internal controls, procedures and regulatory requirements
