An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Accountant to join a Derby based business that has tripled in size in the past 3 years with plans to double their turnover again through acquisition and organic growth before 2021.
The FD wants someone who not only wants his job but has potential to do it in the next 3-4 years.
Offering up to £70,000 + 10% Bonus + Healthcare + Life Assurance + up to 8% pension.
Our client is looking to recruit an exceptional Financial Controller who will work in synergy with the Board. The main responsibility of the role will be the effective delivery of financial reporting and controls along with management of the Finance Team of six people. Critically the role will ensure the appropriate controls are in place, develop and enhance the systems and eventually support and manage the financial direction of this business.
You will be responsible for reviewing the monthly management accounts and providing all the back end commentaries which will be presented to the Board and internal stakeholders, working with the Board to determine commercial insight. Your division will be the largest of the group, have an international reach and will continue to lead the way with group M&A activity.
Additionally you will prepare the annual statutory accounts and manage the relationship with the external auditors. This role will also coordinate the Transactional Team and ensure the correct financial controls are in place for optimum results. The role will also focus on strategic planning and positioning of the business in partnership with the Board. You'll be business partnering with the business leaders across their UK sites with planning, financial modelling and strategy information.
Essentially, this role will require a qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA accountant. The incumbent will have a natural flair and ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and a desire to manage in a changing and fast paced environment. Given the global footprint of the organisation, travel will be expected within and outside of the UK. It won't be constant and the company takes care of everything (planning, execution, expenses etc), but it's important that if you're interested, you're excited by travel rather than wondering how it fits into your current routine.
Experience of project/contract accounting and service contract accounting would be ideal.
Additionally you will have excellent communication skills, be a real self-starter capable of working as part of a small team and combine both technical and commercial finance skills.
Experience in sectors such as engineering, manufacturing or supply chain are advantageous.
