We are currently supporting a £30 Million turnover Nottingham based SME in their search for their FIRST ever Financial Controller.

You will be someone that loves to nurture talent (there's a team of 3), someone who wants to build a supportive and collaborative team culture. You'll be keen to establish finance as a true partner to the business operations, helping to keep costs to a minimum (whilst retaining quality) and driving margins.

This is a role where you will shape the job, get input into what good looks like and be a positive strategic and commercial influence on the business.

You will be responsible for reviewing the monthly management accounts and providing all the back end commentaries which will be presented to the Senior Leadership Team and internal stakeholders, working with the FD to determine commercial insight.

Additionally you will prepare the annual statutory accounts and manage the relationship with the external auditors. The role will also focus on strategic planning and positioning of the business in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team.

Essentially, this role will require a qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA accountant. The incumbent will have a natural flair and ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and a desire to manage in a changing and fast paced environment. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for someone possibly looking to make a step up or a move across and make a difference in a company that is going through a period of significant transformation.

Additionally you will have excellent communication skills, be a real self-starter capable of working as part of a small team and combine both technical and commercial finance skills.
