Financial Controller | Birmingham (NE) | £50,000 - £60,000 + car + benefits

Are you an experienced qualified accountant with all the technical tools required to be effective in a senior role within an SME organisation? Do you have leadership experience which will allow you to motivate and develop a small team (4-5)? Can you bring an inquisitive and analytical mind which will allow you to think beyond your core duties challenging the status quo and asking the key question …"Why?"

I am currently working on a very interesting opportunity with a highly successful organisation with current turnover of around £25m. This is just the beginning and investment has already been secured for the next phase of growth which has led to a restructure of the finance team and effectively the creation of a brand new full time requirement.

What will you be doing?

-Team Management - Management of a small finance team fulfilling necessary financial tasks to a high standard subject to tight deadlines

-Working Capital Management - Effectively ensuring both credit and stock control are managed effectively and efficiently.

-Business Partnering - Collecting and collating management information, forecasts, budgets and analysis for the Management team.

-External Relationships Management - including banks, auditors, insurers

-Compliance - with all statutory financial procedures (Payroll, VAT, Corporation Tax, Audit, Banking Submissions)

-Continuous Improvement

 

What experience do you need to be considered?

-Qualified Accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA)

-Previous Experience of leadership / management experience

-Ideally you will also have financial experience within an SME environment therefore understand the importance of managing cash flow and working capital effectively

-Systems Experience - Navision ERP experience would be desirable

-Good Communicator with a positive 'can do' attitude

-Effective Team Player
