Cherry Professional are working on behalf of a unique and professional business, based in Chesterfield, who are seeking to employ an Credit Risk Team Leader on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-established team for an exciting business who have grown year on year.

The role

Responsible for a small team of credit analysts and data input assistants, you will be required to meet the following key departmental tasks.
Manage a busy credit held diary to ensure all held orders are reviewed and appropriate decisions made within agreed timescales for each order hitting the diary system or before the close of business each day as appropriate.
Regularly review Euler credit lines and keep information correctly recorded on the customer's account.
Update credit report information held on AS400 each month for all accounts with limits inside insurer's threshold and take the necessary action where Credit agency report has changed.
Assess new account files. Liaise with sales, the customer, credit agencies and review internet and other appropriate materials to agree credit lines.
Monitor and review existing credit lines. Speak with 3rd party agencies, the customer or sales to procure the required information to assist setting increased limits. Continually manage limits to stay within agreed insurer's framework and avoid uninsured risk.
Create, update and monitor AS400 customer accounts including the accurate gathering of customer information.
Control the creditcontrol@ email, investigate and respond to any requests within an agreed timescale after liaising appropriately with key stakeholders.
Any other activity required to meet the departmental objectives.

Make reasoned decisions that deliver on long term objectives and support your decision making by demonstrating a wider understanding of the business environment and the risk process

Knowledge:

IT literate, able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, with a good all round knowledge of the AS400 system and in particular a full understanding of the requirements for credit risk and data base maintenance

A good understanding of the credit risk process and how to utilise 3rd party providers such as Creditsafe and Euler Hermes to include a full understanding of their software and policy procedures

Understand company financial accounts including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements and the use of accounting ratios to aid credit decisions

Key Objectives


Consistently exceed expectation of sales department with the assessment and establishment of credit lines for new account applications Manage credit diary within agreed timeframe and in any case deal with all diary issues by close of business each day

Review existing accounts ahead of required timelines. Agree and implement actions in a timely fashion to ensure business continuity.

Reduce exposure to uninsured debt and the risk of bad debt write off
Manage team training and development and demonstrate effectiveness by improved performance
