Credit Control Manager | Chesterfield | Flexible working | £30,000 - £40,000 


A thriving business based in Chesterfield are looking to recruit a Credit Manager to join them on a permanent, full time basis with flexibility in working from home, the successful candidate will play a pivotal part in ensuring the business reach their ambitious growth plans in the coming years.
The main focus of the role is to know the ledgers back to front, to be into the detail of the customers and overdues and to help the collectors minimise the aged debt.  A large part of achieving this will be by reviewing and improving systems and processes, so demonstrable experience of having achieved that will be an advantage.

The role and responsibilities 


Get into the detail to help solve problem accounts and invoicing issues
Reduce overdue debt
Help the ledger team prioritise and manage workload
Point of escalation for overdue debt and liaison with customers to resolve
Manage and develop the skills, thinking and performance of the team
Highlight and fix systematic process issues affecting debt collections
Manage individual and team performance, setting and monitoring appropriate measures
Ongoing review and improvement of systems and processes



The ideal candidate:

Must build relationships with customers, must be happy to be on the phone and lead by example and help the collectors that report in.
Intense focus on ageing of debt and simplifying the collections processes.
Significant and proven collections team management at a sizeable company
Experience of getting the best from people while driving them to improve
Ability to be hands on in the detail and follow things through to completion
Focus on performance measurement and improvement
Ability to work with and influence management across the business to achieve business goals
