Quantity Surveyor (Environmental / Project / Internal Construction) | Nottingham | £45, 000 -£50,000 | Permanent

Cherry Professional are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor for a fantastic organisation based in North Nottinghamshire on a permanent basis. The aim of this position is to develop and own the delivery of an independent cost management and assurance service for the delivery of programmes and projects to support opportunities to develop sustainable and carbon neutral solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and establish a costs management framework and strategy, including the identification of appropriate tools and resources.
  • Advise on environmentally sensitive construction materials and methods to deliver projects that meet our sustainability and net zero targets.
  • Provide a full independent cost management and review process across the project lifecycle, including supplier proposals.
  • Undertake market comparisons and gather information to develop benchmark data to improve future estimating and demonstrate value for money.
  • Development of cost models to generate cost curves for construction projects.
  • Evaluate and approval of all costs incorporated in project feasibility reports, outlining the consideration of options, costs, benefits and risks to influence strategies.
  • Provide a full independent cost management and review process across the project lifecycle, including supplier proposals.
  • Undertake full independent cost audits and providing assurance on programme and project costs.
  • Provide or review cost estimates for strategic programmes and projects to generate accurate project budgets.
  • Support project managers with the preparation of specifications, contractual requirements, pricing structures, review of costings and the application of contract conditions through commercial advice.
The candidate:
  • Hold a degree/HND (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
  • Have commercial and office experience.
  • Have experience / knowledge in the following:
    • Infrastructure, construction or civil engineering industries.
  • Experience of developing frameworks to forecast and management project costs, including should cost models and curves, benchmarking strategies and client assurance.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating.
  • Environmental, sustainable and carbon neutral construction techniques and materials.
  • Experience of involvement with activity relating to counter fraud and error, bribery & corruption.
