The role
- Title: Payroll Controller
- Type: Permanent
- Location: Head Office, Groby (Leicester) – hybrid working available (minimum 3 days per week in the office)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Fluid options available if desired– longer weeks than others during the payroll period, balancing out over the cycle.)
- Flexibility: Open to full-time or 0.8 FTE (salary pro-rated for 0.8)
- Salary: Up to £38,000 FTE (depending on experience)
- End-to-end payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance and a great internal service
- Partnering with HR and operational stakeholders to capture and validate monthly pay inputs (including overtime/enhancements)
- Handling payroll queries and supporting continuous improvement across processes and controls
- Supporting reporting and reconciliations as required (payroll / pension / statutory elements)
- Proven payroll experience in a busy environment (must be full payroll, end-to-end)
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
- Comfortable working with payroll data, deadlines and process improvement
- Desirable (not essential): exposure to NHS payroll / NHS pensions and/or Select Pay (Access)
