Cherry Professional is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join a well-established company in Nottingham. Our client is a leader in the retail sector with ambitious growth plans and is actively involved in a variety of diverse and exciting projects.
About the Role
As a Finance Business Partner, you will provide financial leadership to the store leadership team, focusing on driving performance across our store estate, which includes Commercial and Operations. You’ll play a crucial role in managing and controlling a significant ~£1bn cost base. Additionally, you will partner with the Central Operations team to drive their strategic agenda with a focus on loss prevention, workforce planning, and investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with FP&A partners and the workforce planning team to develop store-level budgets, target amendments, and forecasts, continuously driving improvements in these areas.
- Produce regular reports and present insights at the RLLT monthly performance meetings led by the Executive-level Retail & Operations Director. Offer commercial insights and challenges across key performance metrics, including Commercial, Pharmacy, and Operations.
- Lead the business partnering relationship with the Director of Retail Operations & Loss and the Loss Senior Management team, focusing on understanding the complex drivers behind loss figures and directing attention to critical areas.
- Serve as the main point of contact for the Directors of Stores and the store estate, assisting with queries and conducting ad-hoc analyses.
- Develop strong working relationships with the commercial and other finance teams, as well as partners in FP&A and Financial Control.
What You’ll Need to Have
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent analytical skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to generate insights from various data sources.
- Resilience and the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence in handling large data sets.
