Purchasing Assistant| Nottinghamshire| Salary £24,000 – £27,500|
Cherry Professional are currently working with a well established and thriving Manufacturing business. As the Purchasing Assistant you will have responsibility for facilitating the efficient processing of all supplier and procurement related documentation as well as any ERP related transactions required within the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with production, planning and other teams to assist where supply issues cannot be directly solved
  • Ensure contracts are up to date, pricings correct and resolve invoice queries
  • Manage contract documentation and key review dates
  • Troubleshooting daily supply issues whilst maintaining professional internal and external communication 
  • Accurately process purchase order documentation and ERP transactions as well as maintaining purchasing records in accordance with established procedures
  • Tracking and expediting purchase orders by telephone, e-mail or in writing as requested by the Procurement Manager or any other senior member of the Supply Chain function
  • Development and maintenance of supplier relationships (including price negotiation)
  • Working closely with the Technical, Sales and Supply Chain teams regarding the sourcing of new ingredients/suppliers as needed
  • Liaising with Production colleagues on the receipt and storage of materials
  • Implementing and monitoring supplier performance reviews
  • Actively participating in continuous improvements initiatives
  • Providing support and cover for the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, when required

Ideal Candidate:

  • MRP / ERP system experience
  • Confident when speaking to and managing stakeholders on all levels
  • Experience of working within a fast-paced administrative environment
  • Involvement in purchasing / buying activities required
  • Ability to network and build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong IT skills, with working knowledge of Microsoft packages and Outlook. Intermediate Excel skills
  • Proven analytical, planning, and strong organization skills
  • Demonstrated experience of process improvements
