Assistant Project Accountant | Derby | £30,000 to £35,000

We are recruiting for an Assistant Project Accountant for a 12 Month Fixed term contract to join a fast paced and well established organisation in Derby. Reporting to the Project Accountant, you will support the financial work streams and act as the Financial Business Partner to a range of both internal and external stakeholders.

The Assistant Project Accountant will draw on commercial and project experience to create, document and monitor controls, adhere to processes, generate funding estimates and assumptions and provide financial administration within a major project from concept to completion.

Key;
-Complete maintenance of financial records that provide an accurate and ensure financial deadlines are met
-Control project costs and the reporting for these projects
-Preparation of submissions which satisfy internal and external reporting requirements including periodic reporting, forecasting, identifying risks
-Assisting work stream owners in development and delivery of all work associated with the project within agreed budgets
-Make timely considered contributions to identify and overcome challenges to manage potential impact on the development on the delivery programme 
-Input into internal risk management process for the programme
-Assist in the preparation, financial modelling and compilation of comprehensive project budget
-Supporting and being pro-active in development of financial controls and processes

The successful candidate will be:
-Commercially minded
-Engaging and able to work under pressure
-Have experience of financial aspects of major projects, financial modelling, accounting and reporting
-Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential 
-Working towards a recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or have experience in a similar role
