Introducing Jo James
We have some exciting news at Cherry Professional – today we welcome Jo James to the Cherry team! We're sure that this will be a familiar name to some of you as Jo joins us with bags of experience across the Midlands.
For those of you who aren't aware of Jo, here is a quick intro: -
Jo is an expert in recruitment and talent acquisition partnering - over the years she has recruited for HR, Finance and Admin & Business Professionals across the Midlands. Jo has an incredible reputation in the market and we are excited to see how she can help elevate Cherry’s HR and Admin & Business Professional offering alongside Danielle Coleman and the HR / A&BP team.
Jo will be working mid-level to senior positions across Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. With the latest systems, tools and industry knowledge at her fingertips, Jo will be able to advise and support both candidates and clients providing an honest and professional service which is something she is passionate about.
Before any new person joins our team, we ask them to sum up what recruitment means to them, as we like to hire people who see beyond just placing people into roles.
Jo said “Recruitment to me means having the right ethics, not just getting someone through the door. You should never underestimate the importance and impact you are having on someone’s life - as a Consultant you are having a direct impact on their career and the goals of the business they are placed within."
As the HR market has grown incredibly over the last 12 months and with the demand for HR professionals growing amongst businesses - we wanted to be able to service our clients by increasing our support across the HR team. We have been recruiting HR Professionals for over 8 years at Cherry and with the addition of Jo to the team we are really excited to grow the division even further!
We asked Jo what she thought the biggest challenges are ahead for HR professionals and she shared: -
“It has to be employee retention first and foremost. The last 16 months have been challenging and employers are now having to ensure that culture, support and systems are in place to enable their employees and the business to continue to operate in an efficient and flexible manner. Now that EVP, D&I and L&D are back on the top of the agenda for most HR teams I anticipate that there will be an increase in the amount of project work that is expected of HR professionals as well as keeping on top of the day to day."
Our MD, Danielle Asano, said “Having Jo join the team will give a HUGE boost to our already established and growing HR division.
