March 8th 2017 marks a day where people around the world campaign for gender equality. Last year, organizations and individuals around the world supported the #PledgeForParity campaign and committed to “help women and girls achieve their ambitions; challenge conscious and unconscious bias; call for gender-balanced leadership; value women and men's contributions equally; and create inclusive flexible cultures.”– International Women’s Day

The sad new is that the World Economic Forum predicts the gender gap won't close entirely until 2186! That is why IWD is a vital day to recognise and talk about the existing gender inequality that still very much surrounds us. Days like today can be a key driver in getting the world closer to achieving gender equality.

This years IWD campaign is #BeBoldForChange. Which is campaigning for us to “call on the masses or call on yourself to help forge a better working world - a more gender inclusive world.” It is an action which encourages everyone to come together and become a leader within our own spheres of influence by taking bold realistic action to accelerate gender parity.

You can submit your #BeBoldForChange action via the IWD website just like we have.

This year Cherry Professional has pledged to take bold action to celebrate women’s achievements. We are committed to celebrating the women who inspire us, so we will be publishing something at least once a month that should be celebrated.
We will be bold and
- Hail the success of women leaders
- Applaud social, economic, cultural and political women role models
- Celebrate women's journeys and the barriers overcome
- Reinforce and support women's triumphs
