On Thursday 24 June Simon from Cherry Professional ran a CV clinic for Chartered Accountants in Leicester. This was the second in the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants) CV clinic series which followed on from a similar event held in Nottingham in March.
Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with KPMG in Nottingham before moving into recruitment, he commented:
'The purpose of a CV is to get an interview. At Cherry Professional we offer our candidates CV coaching to help them get the best response from the market. A great CV is the first stage in securing a new job and we offer additional coaching and advice on interview technique, career coaching and offer management'.
The attendees gained an insight into what makes up a great CV and how to get noticed in a crowded market place. Delegates had the opportunity to ask questions specific to their CV and to share thoughts and experiences about the current job market.
'The CV clinic run by Cherry Professional was very practical and helpful, always well focused on what is needed to secure the all-important interview. There was a good atmosphere in the small group taking part and everyone felt encouraged to contribute to the points being discussed' - Alison Dale, Chartered Accountant.
