Thank you to everyone who entered our competition to win a meal for two at Hart's we really appreciate you taking the time to give us your opinion.

In our Spring Newsletter we posed the question:

'Given current economic conditions, when do you think will be the right time to focus again on expansion plans?'

On the whole most felt that recovery is still some way off and that the UK economy may not have seen the worse. Some of the comments received included:

'In my opinion, the recent optimism about the UK economy is premature and as public spending is cut, the recession and unemployment will worsen during 2010.'

'It is my opinion that we are in a calm before the storm - we are in a strange manufactured part of the economic cycle now pre-election with a host of different opinions being bandied around and debated.'

'Over all I don't predict much improvement over the next 9 months and a new government won't have an immediate impact. The wounds are too deep to be repaired over night.'

'In conclusion the right time to focus on expansion is always. Enacting those plans is dependent upon each business and the resources available to it at any one time.'

'I have found that the number of jobs has drastically reduced over the last two years or so, which must be down to the problems posed to companies by the global credit crunch.'

'There is no one correct answer, the answer will be different for each company, but the important thing is not to let history cloud your judgement on the future. Those that will be successful will choose to expand before everyone else and catch the up wave, those who are still too influenced by the past will wait too long, and not maximise their potential.'

'The right time is ...always...NOW!'
