Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in Nottingham, Simon moved into financial recruitment in 1999.

His finance background and knowing what it is like to be a candidate enables him to understand client requirements and help his candidates make important career decisions.

Simon considers communication to be the most important factor in the recruitment process, and does everything he can to keep his clients and candidates completely up to speed.

He is passionate about Martial Arts and is a qualified Thai Boxing instructor. In addition Simon was one of only a handful of international students to complete the world famous Aikido Senshusei course in Japan.

Having worked in finance for 11 years as a Management Accountant for businesses including British Aerospace and The Derbyshire Building Society, Martin made the move into financial recruitment in 1996. Since then he has become one of the most networked, recognisable recruiters in the East Midlands.

Martin's philosophy is to be totally honest, keep things simple and treat both candidates and clients with great respect to build up personal trust and a great rapport.

He plays tennis, enjoys watching cricket at Trent Bridge and is a keen Notts County fan.

After graduating, Danielle spent 18 months travelling the world, spending much of that time living and working in Australia.

She began her career in financial recruitment in 2000, with one of the leading consultancies in the area. Since then, Danielle has become a respected figure in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire market recruiting temporary/interim, contract and permanent positions. She has recruited for a wide variety of businesses from global to local, in both the private and public sector.
Danielle has a down to earth approach and always goes out of her way to help and advise.

In her spare time she enjoys cooking, eating and keeping fit. You can find her at Wilford Karate School several times a week where she teaches and trains, and as a former member of the British squad she won several titles, including a European gold medal.

After 10 years in London working in property and later recruitment, Ryan relocated back to the East Midlands and joined Cherry Professional in October 2009.

He works closely with Meriel Johnston and Danielle Asano and covers temporary, contract and permanent, clerical and part qualified accounting roles.

Ryan enjoys outdoor pursuits including cycling and hill walking, is a big music lover and regularly attends festivals. He is also a talented snooker player and has played Ray Reardon and Joe Johnson in the past.

After graduating in Psychology, with first class honours, Meriel went on to study further achieving a Masters in Occupational Psychology.

After University she spent a short time working in an accounts office before moving into office support recruitment, with a particular focus on the legal and professional services sector.

After three years in commercial recruitment she moved to Cherry Professional and now recruits for the clerical and part qualified finance market across a wide range of industry sectors.

In her spare time Meriel enjoys keeping fit, gardening and spending time with friends and family. She is also a grade 8 cellist and holds a PADI advanced open water diving qualification. Whenever possible she also takes the opportunity to travel, with a particular interest in wildlife and the great outdoors.

Katie graduated from the University of Lincoln in Journalism and Public Relations and has 4 years' recruitment experience.
She spent a year travelling round the world and visited Southern Africa, Australia, Fiji and Thailand.

Katie joined Cherry Professional in August 2011 and now recruits for the clerical finance market across a wide range of industry sectors in Nottinghamshire.

In her spare time Katie enjoys travelling, music and spending time with friends and family. She has a strong interest in voluntary work and giving back to the community and has spent time organising charity events.

A psychology graduate, Gillian trained with PwC in Leeds before moving in to financial recruitment with a large UK specialist.

Having recruited for all finance disciplines, followed by managerial responsibility for National Business Development she then ran her own Consultancy Business for twenty years.

She brings her extensive experience to the Practice market across the East Midlands and counts empathy and drive as key components of running a successful recruitment campaign.

Outside of work Gillian enjoys cooking and has an active social life.

With over six years financial recruitment experience, Kelly joined Cherry Professional in January 2012 and now recruits for the part qualified and qualified finance market across Derby, Derbyshire and Burton on Trent.

Kelly believes that communication is the key to providing the best possible service to both candidates and clients, ensuring that all parties are well informed and kept up to date with the process.

In her spare time Kelly enjoys spending time with friends and family, eating out, reading and after a recent house move ‘trying' to enjoy gardening.

Jo joined Cherry Professional in 2010 after ten years working for an established commercial recruiter in Nottingham.

She believes honesty and communication are key within the recruitment process and her success is built on repeat business and recommendations from both candidates and clients.

At the weekends you can find Jo eating and drinking in any number of country pubs or plotting her next holiday. She is also trying to pick up and share her colleagues' enthusiasm for all things outdoors.

With an extensive background in recruiting administration, sales & marketing and finance staff, Miriam also worked overseas in India heading up the migration of a call centre function for a national telecommunications company before joining Cherry Professional.

Miriam believes in being honest and fair and has a straightforward approach to recruitment. She receives regular recommendations and referrals and always strives to exceed expectations.

Outside of work Miriam loves modern ballet and enjoys keeping fit at the gym, socialising with friends and has recently taken up golf.

With over 18 years experience in the recruitment sector, Mel joined Cherry Professional as an Administrator in October 2009.

She is responsible for making sure everything runs smoothly in the office and keeping everything in order.

Outside of work Mel enjoys going to the gym, reading real crime books and walking.
